JOB SUMMARY
This classification is primarily responsible for performing tasks in the following areas: Financial/Statistical Analysis and Reporting; Budget Development, Review, and Analysis; Information Tracking and Reporting; and Supervisory/Administrative. This is the advanced journey, highly specialized and/or lead level within this series, responsible for the most complex assignments. Some positions may perform full supervisory duties but do not do so for a preponderance of time. Work mainly involves the gathering and interpretation of data dealing with complex problems and unexpected situations, including making recommendations.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyze operating, maintenance and administrative costs. Assist senior management on specialized studies and projects; prepare and develop District performance measures; coordinate the development of historical cost, revenue and service information. Prepare the District’s quarterly performance report. Perform analyses of labor contracts and labor deployment practices with respect to labor costs. Develop and maintain financial forecasting and cost allocation models. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating and capital improvement budgets. Prepare and submit mandated statistics and reports to the Federal Transit Administration and other governing agencies including data on District ridership, services, financial operations, and related statistics. Maintain, enter, update, and retrieve information from specialized software programs. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review work of staff. Participate in the selection of staff. Plan and coordinate staff training. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, finance, economics, or closely related field.
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in public agency financial planning and analysis or budget development preferably in a transit agency.

Two years of experience as a Senior Administrative Analyst with the District with specific responsibilities for financial-related duties as the main focus of the work.
Required Knowledge: Common word processing software; common spreadsheet software; common database applications; accounting or operations software functionality; e-mail, contact management, and scheduling software; project management software; presentation software.
