Jean Neblett will be holding a sale of the studio contents of her mother's on Saturday & Sunday, June 7th & 6th and Saturday, June 14th, 2008, hours
10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., at 3319 Taylor Road Loomis, CA. Jean's mother, Ethelbert Nebelett, was a member of several quilt guilds in the Rocklin/Loomis/Auburn area. You may remember her; she had several award ribbons in her stash. She died in 2005 at the age of 95 still making quilts on a dally basis. Ethelbert sewed and made her own clothes from the age of 11. When in her teens she taught sewing to younger children in her neighborhood. Her mother owned a dry goods store where Ethelbert hemstitched sheeting into bedding for sale to store customers. She left many UFOs (un-finished objects) in her wake as well as shelves stacked with fabric, patterns, books, buttons, beads, threads, rick-rack, embellishments, etc. Also to be sold are wearable art vest/outfits make by Ethelbert and her deceased, award winning, elder daughter, Virginia Simpson. Can you help me? I am a 44 year old male who has been an amateur writer for years. My style is freeform and original. My imagination is vivid and enthusiastic, even while I sleep. My mind's eye opens wide and the Dream Show begins. I have, throughout the years, shared the stories of some of my more "bizzare" dreams with friends and co-workers, keeping them totaling captivated and entertained. "Movie of the Week" dreams, one of my friends calls them. "I already have", was my reply everytime someone would suggest that I write down the story I had just told.

My portfolio is filled with these types of stories, poems, ideas, and dreams. I have even written an episode for "The Simpon's" (is there anyone from FOX out there). I have storyboard for the movie version of my book.

My book, oh yea, that is what this whole thing is about.
One night my son, about 6 or 7 at the time, aske me to tell him a bed time story. When I told him I did know any, he said "make one up". So I did. He loved it. So has every kid, old and young, that I have told this story to. It took me about 20 minutes ti make up and tell this story, but it hs taken me 10 years to type it up. And now, I would like to publish it. I need help.

Can you help me? Can you help me get this book illustrated? Can you help me get this book published? Help me get my words into the hands of others.

The Film:
I am making a short film about our shared humanity and what we all have in common. You can help.

Contribution Guidelines:
1. One or more scenes from the suggested list below. More are encouraged.
2. A final scene of you from the shoulders up, on a white background, facing the camera straight-on and stating your first name. "My name is ______." (Though not required, feel free to say anything else you like after that. Background on your feelings about being human, about film or art in general, etc.)

Suggested Scenes:
Your everyday routine. Brushing your teeth, preparing for or ending your day. Rising from sleep, sleeping, making your bed, driving to work, eating a meal. Shoot as closely as possible to the action within the frame; the focus should be the activity, not your identity. It is preferred that anyone seeing the film wouldn't necessarily be able to identify you. If the camera captures a full shot of your face at some point, thats ok. Just don't make it the focus. Help the viewer connect with that activity in the most tactile way possible: the closer, the better.

Release the creative spirit within you and paint from the inside! Learn new and exciting techniques to loosen up your painting of watercolor and allow the watercolor to do what it does best -- FLOW. Many of us admire the unique characteristics of watercolor, yet often find ourselves using too much control, resulting in tight overworked paintings. In this workshop, based in part on The Tao of Watercolor by Jeanne Carbonetti, you will use both the left and right sides of your brain, and get in touch with the spirit of who you are. Instead of using photographs, your painting will emerge from within. Using centering and focusing skills, you will develop works of art that are personally rewarding.

Susan Adam is a master watercolor painter and teacher. Her paintings have been exhibited in many national and international exhibitions and have won numerous awards including the Miriam Schorr Memorial Award for Works on Paper from the National Association of Women Artists, New York. Adams is a featured artist in The Best Of Flower Painting. She maintains a working studio and gallery in Petaluma where she also teaches classes and workshops. Pastel paintings are noted for their lush texture and rich color. Easy to work with pastels offer a surprising range of effects. In this all-day introductory class, participants will explore several techniques for applying pastels to a variety of papers and boards. No prior experience is needed. Handouts such as a materials list and a list of suppliers will be given out in class for students future reference.

Please bring a photo of your own or one from a magazine, of a simple view or portrait you would like to reproduce. or, objects for your own still life. Or, give your imagination free reign to create your own abstract or fantasy image! But do come prepared with an image to start with. There will also be a simple still life arrangement to work from in class.

Students are welcome to bring pastels and papers from home, but it is not required. Instructor will supply all materials, covered in the class fee.

I am working on setting up a series fine art nude shoots with a twist. The twist being that the shoots will be part of a photography exhibit itself.You will pose nude during my exhibit.Therefor you must be comfortable posing nude as gallery visitors are present. This will be done in part to give people somewhat of an idea of what happens at an art shoot and show them it is not just about pointing a camera at a model and pushing buttons.

I will be displaying some of the images on a monitor as the shoot happens and possibly offer prints printed on the spot by the gallery to those interested.

Growing up in the country, my passion was taking as many pictures as possible of the beautiful horses that were owned by others around me. That passion led me to my current profession as an equine photographer, doing both farm and ranch photos as well as horse show photos. Not only do I love taking pictures of horses of all kinds, I am an experienced horse owner, and therefore can offer the peace of mind to my clients that I will keep the horses safety during my photo sessions as a top priority.
I don�t specialize in photographing any particular discipline, as I have been a part of both western and english events and find beauty in all breeds of horse. My style of shooting is very photojournalistic, and I aim to tell a story with my photos, not just capture a single brief moment in time.
While I mainly offer horse show and ranch photography, I am also happy to offer my services doing portraits with you and your horse (or horses). Portraits can be family, individual, senior class photos or even engagement and wedding photos.
I use only digital photography, and offer not just basic photo prints, but cd�s with your images to use as you want, as well as image slideshows set to music and put on dvd or cd. If you choose to order prints from me, I use only Kodak to process these requests, as I�ve found they offer the highest quality paper and treat all prints with the utmost care.
As an equine photographer with a true love for the horse, my ultimate goal is to give each and every client images of their horse (or horses) that will bring cherished memories for years to come. I am located in Lincoln California (Placer County), but will travel to surrounding counties for photo shoots and shows.
