We are a small construction company that needs help yesterday. We need someone to keep our office organized and running smoothly and help with the accounting aspects of the business. We are looking for someone to work 15-35 hours per week.
The right candidate will be self motivated, enjoyable to be around and possess the following skill sets:
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Bookkeeping data entry: light payroll, manage A/R, deposits, A/P, reconcile bank/CC statements, generate monthly reports, etc. An extensive knowledge of QuickBooks and basic accounting principles are a must.
• HR - e.g. manage our benefits packages, add/remove employees, manage employee files
• Administrative duties: Assist President of company with daily agendas
organize/order office supplies, run errands, keep the office organized, follow-up on things which need following-up on
• Misc: Help out in ways that interest you and are useful to the company. We're into empowerment; not so much into micro-management.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent at organizing - We really need someone who loves to keep things organized, someone who loves their label maker, someone who loves to develop processes and systems for keeping others organized.
• Bookkeeping skills - A large part of this job is managing company accounts through QuickBooks. Setting up and producing accurate reports for CEO. Knowledge of wip or cip accounts is a big plus.
• Computer skills - Some of the tasks will involve going to various websites, creating spreadsheets, lists, labels, and letters. Your knowledge of Microsoft Office is important but not a deal breaker if you are an otherwise brilliant, fun and light hearted person. --it's not rocket science. However; familiarity with computers is a must.
• Hard worker - You need to be someone who enjoys working successfully indepently and with others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This job is extremely flexible. Since there really isn't a requirement to answer phones there are no set work hours required (however, answering the phone is part of the job). We would like to set up a consistent schedule but that is really up to you. Whatever fits with your schedule is good for us (within reason of course).
• The office environment is very friendly and professional. We don't usually receive clients at our office so dress is casual.
