BASIC FUNCTION: <br>
Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Applied Arts, Science and Technology, assist in reinforcing instruction and providing guidance to individuals or small groups of students in the Food Service Management lab; assist in managing the student-operated restaurant.<br>

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:<br>
<li> Maintain and control the circulation of instructional supplies, materials, food items, and equipment, check items in and out to students; maintain appropriate records and inventories; order replacement items, equipment and food supplies, maintain equipment according to approved procedures; process new stock and equipment. (E)<br>
<li> Assist students in the proper procedures, selection, operation and care of food items, equipment and cookbooks; reinforce instruction provided by the instructor; assist students in managing kitchen and dining facilities; ensure student compliance with current health and safety regulations. (E)<br>
<li> Operate a Touch Menu Point of Service System and produce related reports; control and monitor cash receipts and expenses; maintain appropriate records. (E)<br>
<li> Operate and maintain a variety of equipment associated with the food service field including personal computer and associated software. (E)<br>
<li> Ensure that the instructional area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner; ensure compliance with the state and county health department codes; assure the security of the facilities as assigned. (E)<br>
<li> Assist in preparing, administering, scoring and recording student tests and assignments; record attendance; maintain student records. (E)<br>
<li> Provide relevant information to instructors regarding student progress; assist instructors in evaluation and identification of student problems; assist in the resolution of problems. (E)<br>

WORKING CONDITIONS:<br>
 Categorically funded positions are contingent upon funding. Smoking is restricted in many areas of the Yuba Community College District. Woodland Community College is a tobacco free campus.<br>

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: <br>

PART-TIME (less than .60 FTE): <br>
Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits. The District does however; provide the employee prorated leaves including vacation, sick leave and paid holidays. Employees less than .50 FTE contribute to an Alternative Retirement System (Apple). Employees whose, FTE is between .50 and .60 contribute to the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).<br>
<br>
BENEFITS: <br>
The District provides health, dental, vision and life insurance for employee and dependents for positions whose FTE is .60 or higher. The District and the employee contribute to the Public Employees' Retirement System, which is integrated with Social Security. <br>

This position promotes and supports established industry curricula to schools and other educational facilities; manages multiple CH&LA Education Foundation scholarship programs; and develops and implements fundraising/grants.    <br>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>

** Identifies appropriate educational institutions to consider the American Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Institute’s Lodging Management Program and/or S T A R T Program.  Effectively represents these two programs and manages the implementation of objectives for new partner schools, including acting as an industry liaison and engaging CH&LA member properties where appropriate.  Effectively manages administrative requirements and processes.  <br>

** Identifies and assists in the development of leaders and mentors from the California lodging industry to educational institutions.<br>
<br>
** Serves as liaison with college-level lodging and hospitality management programs.<br>
<br>
** Acts as the primary liaison to the CH&LA Education Foundation Board of Directors and the CH&LA Education Committee.  Responsible for setting meeting agendas in coordination with Foundation President and Committee Chair, arranging meetings, all aspects of recording minutes, and all communication to the Board and Committee.<br>

** Reports on Foundation activities; provides assistance to local lodging industry members interested in supporting the Lodging Management Program.<br>

** Implements and administers Foundation’s various scholarship programs, including promotion, marketing, coordination of awards, and administration.<br>

** In coordination with CH&LA’s Director of Meetings & Events, plans and executes fundraising events and social events, as needed.<br>

** In consultation with the Foundation Board of Directors, initiates and implements fundraising programs and activities.<br>
<br>
** Promotes CH&LA’s educational, professional, and skills development programs, including coordinating press releases, public relations, and member communications, including web site, email newsletters, and written communications. <br>

Internal Relationships<br>
Reports to CH&LA President & CEO.  Primary liaison with CH&LA Education Committee and Education Foundation Board of Directors.<br>

External Relationships<br>
Maintains relationships with industry partners, educational institution partners, lodging industry leaders, and the California Department of Education, among others.<br>
<br>
Skill Requirements<br>
Must have excellent writing, administrative, computer (Microsoft Office), organizational, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills.  Be a team player in a small organization and show a commitment to excellence.  Good business and communications skills.<br>

4. Evaluate student progress, consistent with school policy and philosophy, keep appropriate records, prepare appropriate student reports, and effectively communicate with students, supervisors, and parents. 
<br>
5. Provide multiple opportunities for students to upgrade work and improve their performance. 
<br>
6. Perform basic attendance accounting and business services as required. 
<br>
7. Maintain professional competence through participation in professional growth activities. 
<br>
8. Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems. 
<br>
9. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and/or group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilities, and cultural backgrounds. 
<br>
10. Create, with assistance from students, a functional and attractive environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers. 
<br>
11. Work collaboratively with subject area and house teams. Attend and contribute to collaboration meetings. 
<br>
12. Select and requisition books, instructional aides, instructional supplies, and maintain required inventory records. 
<br>
13. Ensure a comfortable room environment through control of heating, lighting, and ventilation to the extent possible. 
<br>
14. Administer group-standardized tests. 
<br>
15. Assume responsibility for a reasonable amount of non-teaching activities such as directing of extra-curricular work, teachers’ meetings, professional study, inservice training, curricula revision, student supervision, and other similar activities. 
<br>
16. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the work of technical and house assistants, and other assigned staff. 
<br>
17. Be familiar with California state teaching standards. 
<br>
18. Perform other related duties as assigned. 
<br>
19. On-site liaison to local Job Corps.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Appropriate valid Single Subject California Teaching credential in Math with CLAD or equivalent.

We are looking for positive and motivated teachers to help us provide special education services to adolescent/teenage girls between ages 11-18 years identified as Emotionally Disturbed (ED), Learning Handicapped (LH), or Learning Disabled (LD). Duties include development and implementation of curriculum, direct instructional services, ongoing assessment of students, and direct supervision of Teacher’s Assistants (TA).<br>

Special Education Instructor (SEI) duties include development and implementation of curriculum, direct instructional services, and ongoing assessment of SED students ages 11-17. SEI develops lessons plans that provide a variety of learning opportunities to meet individual student’s needs for assigned subjects. SEI provides educational summaries to Residential Facility Social Worker for clinical reports. SEI prepares and presents educational materials for Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings with school district representatives. SEI takes attendance and maintains class records and grades and completes quarterly report cards. SEI tracks and records credits earned by students. SEI provides guidance, reinforcement, and consequences necessary to maintain an environment that facilitates learning for all students. SEI offers input and assists in writing incident reports, school district reports, and information sheets as directed. SEI implements Behavioral Invention Plan (BIP) as indicated. SEI supervises physical education activities and students on field trips SEI attends training sessions, special events and meetings as required. Experience with SED population and behavior modification preferred in a small classroom setting. Must be a team player.  <br>

    <font>About the 1-2-1 Tutoring Program</font></font></b><font><br>
    -Individual in-home tutoring (or at local library)<br>
    -Tutoring for students in grades K-12<br>
    -Subject areas of Mathematics and Language Arts <br>
    -Providing Supplemental Educational Services through the No 
    Child Left Behind act<br>
    -Tutoring takes place afternoons, evenings, and weekends</font></p>
    <p><b><font>Essential Responsibilities<br>
    -</font></b><font>Provide one-to-one tutoring to youth in 
    the home or public library if the parent prefers<br>
    -Ongoing assessment of math and 
      reading skills of each student.<br>
    -Participate in  staff and 
      additional training meetings as needed.<br>
    -Complete all paperwork pertinent 
      to tutoring services in a timely manner.<br>
    -Enter tutoring session information online promptly after session is 
    completed.<br>
    -Be prompt and prepared in 
      attending all scheduled sessions.<br>
    -Provide  weekly updates 
      and feedback to project coordinator.<br>
    -Keep in regular contact with parents/guardians in order to keep a 
    consistent tutoring schedule.</font></p>
    <p><font><b>
    Essential Qualifications<br>
    </b></font><font>-Minimum of (15) semester units, or equivalent, with  core requirements 
      (Math,  Language Arts) completed with a minimum 2.5 GPA (a 
      transcript copy will be required). <br>
    -Previous experience tutoring or working with youth preferred.<br>
    -Able 
      to provide positive role model for youth and capable of relating to youth.<br>
    -Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and check 
      in with supervisor.<br>
    -Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license, willingness to travel in the Sacramento area or specific 
      areas being served throughout California.<br>
    -Must have easy access to a computer and the internet. <br>
    -Employment is contingent on passing a 
      Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint 
      background check and obtaining a passing Tuberculosis (TB) Test.</font></p>

          $15 - $18/hr for Tutoring DOE<br>
