Looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with solid experience with Pumps and Heavy Diesel Engines. Experience in rail, marine, heavy off-highway equipment, mining equipment and power generation. Job Description:
Visits customers and potential customers acting as company’s technical representative for our products and services.
Detailed design and analysis work in rotating machinery (pump experience strongly desired).
Extensive experience with systems involving heavy diesel engines in rail, marine, mining, heavy equipment, or other heavy industry a plus.
Plays key role as contact with existing and potential customers to establish solid understanding of customer needs and requirements.
Generates leads that result in sales to new and existing customers.
Responsible for learning organization chart of existing customers and prospective customers, identifying key decision-making personnel, cultivating long-term relationships with these individuals, and fostering trust and confidence in company’s full line of products and engineering services.
Takes orders and closes sales.
Effectively communicates new product requests and new concepts to design team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Trains customers’ employees to operate and maintain new equipment as appropriate.
Studies literature about new and existing products and monitors the sales, prices, and products of competitors.
Responsible for large territory including outside the US, and other markets where company’s products are sold or need to be introduced.
Spends time meeting with and entertaining prospective clients during evenings and weekends.
Makes follow-up visits after the sale to resolve problems with or complaints about the products and services, and ensures customer satisfaction.
Follows leads from other clients, tracks advertisements in trade journals, and participates in trade shows and conferences.
Gives sales presentations and/or demonstrations to explain the product and answer questions or concerns.
Knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts including stresses, materials, fluids, and thermodynamics.
Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical problems.
Knowledge of motors, gears, bearings, and power conversion.
Spends much of his or her time traveling to visit current customers and prospective new customers.
Results driven - documented success in exceeding sales goals and objectives.
Ability to work closely with demanding customers, and cultivate new customers for growth of business.
Intellectual ability to identify cost effective solutions that impact our customers’ bottom line.
Possesses extensive technical knowledge of products and services.
