Applied Architecture’s projects include new homes, remodels of existing homes (usually in the classic older neighborhoods); new and rehab apartments for active seniors and families, and urban lofts. We also specialize in bringing new life to existing commercial properties by creating new facades, and in finding adaptive reuses for historic properties that range in scope from large urban icons to small former stores and homes. We had an immediate need for a committed and engaged person to join our small team. The successful candidate will be committed to and excited about personally following a proven process from beginning to end; and have the needed skills to provide excellent professional service with opportunities over time to establish close working relationships with owners and builders.
Essential Skills
• Excellent computer skills:
Autocad expertise essential. Working familiarity with Sketchup, Word, Excel, Corel or Photoshop necessary. Access, Frontpage and Powerpoint helpful.
• Great written and oral communication skills - clear and professional
• Excellent professional demeanor and personal presentation
• Self managed and eager to learn and do immediately
• Quick study – ability to get up to speed in new technical areas quickly and effectively
• Experience and ability to efficiently measure and create accurate existing conditions drawings
Helpful
• Web and networking tools
• Marketing skills: ability to create web posts that are professional and snappy
• Computer hardware familiarity
• Sketching ability -freehand - for communication during meetings with customers
• Design ability: sensitivity to traditional home environments, details and styles
• Professional Licensure track
