Wildflower is a 10.2 hand painted pony who needs a new little girl to love. My daughter has outgrown her so Wildflower isn't getting the attention she deserves. She hasn't been ridden for a few years so might need a tune-up to be ridden solo, but would easily be a good lead-line pony. Wildflower is a solid little mare who doesn't spook easily. She is in good health and doesn't appear to ever have foundered. She's about 20-24 years old. Wildflower loves attention and will stand for hours while she's groomed. My daughter used to spend hours each day braiding her mane and tail, brushing her, etc. She is a sweetheart. Delivery available and we can hold until Christmas. Pigeon Fever in horses is caused by the same bacteria that causes CL (abscesses) in goats. Just curious if you have any goats, or have any neighbors that have goats. If so, the lab at UCDavis can test the goats for CL (via blood test). It's relatively inexpensive and might at least let you know the source of the infection. I have both goats and horses so make sure all my goats are negative for CL (as well as CAE and Johnes).

Sorry to say, we have two very sweet and gentle horses that have been abandoned by their owner! One is an 8 year old gelding, Paint, and the other is a five year old mare, Welsh Pony. Both are in very good condition over-all, they need their feet trimmed, they are solid, they have been barefoot since their arrival here. They have not been riden in months, but back when, they were riden with or without saddle, in the arenas and on our trails. They need a new, loving and caring owner! 5 year old Thoroughbred Gelding. Approx 16 HH. We have ridden "Cash" mostly on trail. He trailors, ties, picks up his feet and is great for the shoer. No bad habits! He does not buck, kick. or rear and I have never seen him spook (including one time when someone shot a gun nearby!) He has good ground manners as well. He is tattooed but in doing a little internet research using the numbers I could read from the tattoo, I do know that he was never raced. He is sound. I would consider Cash greenbroke requiring a confident, experienced rider- he doesnt know his leads, and likes to move out so in the beginning of an easy ride so he will need someone that will hold him back a little (or lunge him first). He is a FAST walker and has a nice smooth gait. I want to see him go to the "right" home where he will be loved!!! $750.

On 10/24 I first noticed swelling in the chest of my 2 year old. I researched ALOT and you have to be careful NOT to beleive all you read but in all, the info I found was great. Mostly I relied on a good horse friend that had horses with it, but only 2 out of over 10 got it. My vet also confirmed info just over the phone. Last week in search for some ichthammol, I called a local feed store as the other 2 were out of it, and the person asked if I had a horse with the PF and said that it seemed everyone was getting it lately. We are on the west side of Sac but how many times did you bring that fly home to your barn from the last show/rodeo? I did also hear that the dry warm late weather helped, and fly were just bad this year, but in reading I understand it breaks out every 5-6 years, and maybe it is just a weather thing. They say most horses become immune for years after having it, if not forever. The most interesting thing I did read had to do with the issue of the sore under the tummy which I found 10/20 and was putting Swat and fly spray on, being very aware it was the PF time of year and checking them at least every other day for sores there. In one peice of info it noted about worming with Ivermectin and that doing this, the sores on the belly were "exits" for the dead worms after worming, which I had done 9/22. Seemed too far fetched but I watch too closely for flys just to have made the sore I found in a day or 2, but maybe so. As prior mentioned, it should be left to run it's course if "classic" symptoms, not given antibiotics thinking that makes it go away like when people are ill. If it is internal it is treated with antibiotics and need an ultrasound to find the abscess, but your horse would act sick. My horse had 2 up front on 1 underneath under the flank which broke Sun, Mon and tonight. I am lucky to have been able to get all (most) of the contagious pus drained in a bucket and picked it up from the dirt with the one that broke at night. I used bleach water to wash area's down but read that is not very effective, Nolvasan is best but did not have. I was even able to squirt a betadine solution in 2 of the wounds to help clense them out better. Hopefully we are done with PF, no signs of it on the other horse. It is pretty grody, hope not to see it again!

Don't you hate having to walk your horse out until it is dry all winter?? Well, an easy way to help keep your horse cooler while it is being ridden and easier to keep clean is to body clip. For most people this is scary if they have never done it before. That's why you'd call me! I'll come body clip your horse, I have all the supplies and lots of past experience from clipping my own horses in the winter months. I am willing to do whatever type of clip job you would like, Trace/Blanket(75), Hunter(85), or Full (100). The price would vary based on which clip you wanted and the size of your horse. Bigger Horse = More Hair.
I'm located in the Sacramento Area and am more than willing to travel to surrounding areas such as Elk Grove, Wilton, Davis, Folsom, Granite Bay, El Dorado Hill, Shingle Springs, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Roseville, and Lincoln. If you are from one of the locations that is a bit farther out there, a minimal travel charge would be added to cover gas.
Before your horse can be body clipped, it must have been thoroughly bathed and totally dry. If bathing is not an option, vacuumed is okay. I am more than willing to body clip your horse on my own, however if your horse has a known issue with being clipped or is possibly going to be a handful, I would appreciate your help.
