We'll meet in the Big Lots parking lot on the corner of Watt Ave. & La Riviera Dr. There is a trailhead for the American River Parkway Bike Trail right across the street. We'll travel downstream 4 miles to the Guy West Bicycle Bridge at CSUS, then cross the river and return upstream on the opposite side of the river. This ride is entirely on Class A paved bike trails with no motor vehicle crossings of any kind once we enter the trail. The ride should take less than an hour. All skill and fitness levels are welcome.
YOU MUST WEAR A HELMET TO ATTEND THIS RIDE! Your guests are welcome, but please ensure that they have a helmet.
An RSVP is a Social Commitment. Your Hosts and Organizers go to great lengths and often personal expense to make these events fun and enjoyable for you. If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event.
The starting location is just 1 mile North of the Watt Ave. Light Rail Station, so take the train!

Savorn is looking to make this a weekly event for those interested. He will be leaving the North side of the Guy West Bridge, which is closest to the bike trail, at 6:30 am sharp. Please arrive early to give yourself time to get ready. The pace will be 16-20 mph in the flat and will be approx 50 miles. This ride is very similiar to the ride Marsh does on Tuesday evening only a little longer.
Please remember to bring pleanty of water and snacks, as always your helmet is required.

Due to the heat, we have moved our games from the morning/afternoon to a cooler time in the day. Games will be played from 4pm up to 9pm. NOTE: CHRONO AND SIGN IN WILL START AT 3PM. GAMES START PROMPTLY AT 4PM. This is usually when the temperature tends to cool down and breezes start to pick up.
Field limits are: 400FPS with .20g bbs for AEG's with full auto capabilities 550FPS with .20g bbs for Bolt Action Sniper Rifles
If your gun consistently fires over 400fps, you will not be allowed to play with that gun. NO GAS SNIPER RIFLES.

Under 18 yrs old? You must have your parent/guardian sign the waiver form. Click on to 'Files' on the Left side of website. Find the WAIVER AND LIABILITY FORM. If you have a pistol, bring it. Expect a pistol game in the 4 structures.
Games will consist of many scenarios, from Football to Jailbreak to Pilot Down. Things will be fast paced and exciting. Make sure you have water with you. If you need more, water can be purchased at the field.

Sacramento Waterfront Loop - Easy

For those of you interested we can attend the "Harmony on the River" in West Sacramento, that begins at 7:30PM, to listen to Santana Tribute band! I'll be meeting up with the "Single in Sacramento" Meetup Group for the concert!
This urban walk showcases the history of the Old Sacramento waterfront and the recreational amenities of the Sacramento River Promenade on the east bank and the River Walk on the west bank.
We'll meet in front of the Crocker Art Museum, located on 216 "O" Street. You can park in the vincinty of O and 2nd street. Dogs are welcomed to attend, please remember to pick up after them!
Showers Lake - Easy

THE HIKE:
We'll venture forth to Showers Lake, starting from Schneiders Cow Camp. If our timing is right, we'll see lots of gorgeous wildflowers in bloom. And we'll have beautiful ridgetop views of Meiss Meadow, Red Lake Peak, Stevens Peak, and more.
The distance will be 4.2 miles round trip, all on trail, with a respectable amount of elevation gain. There may still be a few patches of snow on the trail. I'll try to set a pace that is comfortable for everyone.
VEHICLE NOTE: The last few miles of the drive to the trailhead is on a dirt road that is deeply rutted in places. Standard passenger cars will probably scrape bottom. I strongly encourage SUV owners to take carpoolers. Ordinary 2-wheel drive pick-up trucks will also work.
PREPARATIONS: The forecast calls for nice weather . However local afternoon thundershowers are always a possibility this time of year. It would be a good idea to bring rain gear of some kind. A large plastic garbage sack, with precut holes for the neck and arms will work, weighs very little, and takes up very little space in your rucksack or fanny-pack.
There will be mosquitos; so bring insect repellant. In places, the trail may be slushy; so be sure to bring a change of shoes and socks for when we get back to the cars. I can't guarantee the cleanliness of the lake water; so it would be a good idea to bring at least a quart of
drinking water, along with your lunch.
Other things to bring: sturdy comfortable footwear, TP, sunglasses, sunscreen, walking stick or hiking pole(s), optional hat, optional camera.
DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: Get back onto I-50 Eastbound. Drive through Placerville, past Camino, to Pollock Pines. Take the Sly Park exit. Turn right. Continue driving for a few miles. When you can see Jenkinson Lake through the trees off to your left, slow down. Then turn left onto a road called Mormon Immigrant Trail. Continue driving until you come to a T intersection at Highway 88. Turn left. Drive past Silver Lake and past Caples Lake. When you see a maintenance station sign, turn left, park your vehicle on the side of the road, and wait for the other vehicles. From there, we'll caravan to the trailhead at Schneiders Cow Camp. The driving time should be approximately 2 hours each way. A beautiful drive to a beautiful hike.
FEE: Possible $3.00 for parking in lot and $3.00 per hour toward gas costs
As always these events are leaderless and you must be responsible for knowing your own personal limits and selecting events within those limits. Each and every member must be physically and mentally prepared for all of the possibilities that accompany hiking in the outdoors.
I strongly urge all new members and all accompanying guests to start with 2-3 beginners events before transitioning to the next level of intermediate events. Additionally, it is strongly advised that all intermediate level members attend at least 3-5 intermediate events before transitioning into the more advanced level excursions.
If you have not attended an event in as little as few weeks prior to the next event or you have fallen ill/been injured you may want to consider attending a lower level of hiking event(s) for the safety/health of yourself and others around you.
2-3 Events for beginners before transitioning to intermediate
3-5 Events for intermediates before transitioning to advanced
1-3 Events of the lower of customary level for those who have had a short absence or recently been ill/injured
(Keep in mind that this is just a guideline and is different for all)

First Volleyball Meetup!

This is our first volleyball meetup... hopefully the time and location works for the group. If not, give me a time/day that works better for you.
