I am a stay at home mom, 35 years old, looking to help one family out with childcare needs. I am willing to watch one precious child or all your precious children. I am open to part time, full time and even drop in, if given enough notice (1 to 2 hours). I have 3 children myself, twin girls who are 4.5 years old and a 3 year old girl. We LOVE to do arts and crafts, coloring, painting, learning our alphabet and numbers (we are practicing writing them now along with our names), etc. We also play outside on our swing set and with all our other outside play toys. We ride our bikes in our quiet, safe cul de sac, we walk to the nearby park, we walk to the Fountains, etc. I will provide nutritious snacks and lunch, but I must warn you, I love to bake and we do eat what I bake! I charge $25 a day per child but am open to negotiation, especially with multiple children or full time care. I have a lot of experience with all ages ranging from nannying to camp cousellor to coaching kids sports and working in an art and music school as a teachers aide. I love being around children and havent yet had the chance to go back to school yet ( I've been travelling for the last couple of years) but Im hoping to attend Sierra College in the new year.

I love being with children and I keep them occupied and stimulated, never a dull moment, froms arts and crafts to physical acitivity to simple down time I keep them involved and happy!

I have numerous references and photographs and currently my availability is wide open for you and your children, my normal rate is between eight and twelve dollars an hour depending on the number of children, but I would be more than willing to set up a weekly pay rather than hourly.

5 Steps To Choosing Quality Child Care
Start Early
Start looking as far in advance as you can. No matter what type of care you are considering - a child care center or care in someone else's home - finding the right child care option can take some time.

Make a Call
Begin your search by calling your local experts - your child care resource and referral (CCR&R) center. CCR&Rs can give you the facts about child care, and a list of child care options in your area that may meet your needs. In addition to what is in this brochure, make sure to ask your CCR&R these things:

What are the licensing requirements in my area?
How can I get information about complaints and licensing violations?
Are there any child care financial assistance programs that my family qualifies for?

Visit and Ask Questions
Make sure you visit the child care options you are considering. Find out about these key indicators of quality:

Adult to Child Ratio: Ask how many children there are for each adult. The fewer the children for each adult, the better for your child. You want your child to get plenty of attention. The younger your child, the more important this is. Babies need an adult to child ratio of no more than 1:4 (one adult for four infants), while four-year-olds can do well with a ratio of 1:10 (one adult for ten children).

Group Size: Find out how many children are in the group. The smaller the group, the better. Imagine a group of 25 two-year olds with five adults, compared to a group of 10 with two adults. Both groups have the same adult to child ratio. Which would be calmer and safer? Which would be more like a family?

Caregiver Qualifications: Ask about the caregivers' training and education. Caregivers with degrees and/or special training in working with children will be better able to help your child learn. Are the caregivers involved in activities to improve their skills? Do they attend classes and workshops?

Turnover: Check how long caregivers have been at the center or providing care in their homes. It's best if children stay with the same caregiver at least a year. Caregivers who come and go make it hard on your child. Getting used to new caregivers takes time and energy that could be spent on learning new things.

Accreditation: Find out if the child care provider has been accredited by a national organization. Providers that are accredited have met voluntary standards for child care that are higher than most state licensing requirements.The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) are the two largest organizations that accredit child care programs.

Make a Choice
Think about what you saw at each visit, and make the best choice for your child and family.

Stay Involved
The work isn't over when you find good care for your child. You and your child's caregiver are partners now.

Here are some ways to be involved:

Have parent-caregiver meetings regularly, and ask questions.
Offer to volunteer time when needed, like participating in clean up days, fixing broken toys.
Be there for your child's birthday party.
Visit your child at child care and read a book aloud.
Join in special events, like field trips, Career Day, Black History Month, or other holidays.
Even if you can't get time off from work during the day, you can still check in at drop-off and pick-up times. Ask the caregiver how things are going, and how your child is doing.

Visiting and participating in events at your child's provider sends a strong message. It tells your child and your child's caregiver that you think what your child is doing and learning is important.

I have two boys age 11 and 12 and I am looking for after school care on Monday and Friday afternoons, you would need to have a car to pick them up from school at 2:00 and then be able to stay with them until I get home from work at about 3:30/4:00. My hours can vary a little so I would need to know if you are or can be flexible on Monday or Friday up until 5:00pm.

I would like this person to be flexible with schedule changes in our jobs. No nights are required but flexibility is a must.

Again they are self sufficient, so its more just supervision then "daycare". I also have a small dog that is also part of our family as well.

We are located in a good family neighborhood in West Sacramento's Southport Area (close by the Nugget) featuring parks and proximity to local schools. All ages are welcome from 18 months on upward! At Helen's Daycare we do not "warehouse" our kids, but further them through age-appropriate arts & crafts, adventure walks, park visits, social interaction, reading sessions, etc. We provide a safe, clean play-and-learn environment for everyone! Our yard is stocked with toys and designed for outdoor play & fun. Our facility is well equipped with learning, reading and play materials. We are also enrolled in USDA Food program to promote healthy eating.
As required by licensing, we are:
Adult, Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certified (updated yearly), fingerprinted/background checked by the CA D.O.J., TB tested/cleared, and are trained though California Child Care Health and Safety Classes.

Our backyard is spacious and have a lot of room for the kids to run and play. We also have a long cemented path way, wrapped around the house, for the kids to ride tricycles, cars and scooters.
