This is an exciting, fast-paced, but demanding position. The successful applicant should expect to have immediate and substantial client contact, opposing counsel contact, direct and supervised responsibility for all aspects of the family law practice including preparation of motions and responsive declarations, financial disclosures, legal research, law & motion hearings, trial preparation, and trial.
The applicant must be admitted to the California State Bar (those awaiting November 2009 bar results will be considered if they pass the exam). Although the "right candidate" will always be considered, there is a STRONG PREFERENCE for a person with EXISTING FAMILY LAW EXPERIENCE (including internships and clerkships) who have a clear understanding about the benefits and demands of a family law practice.
Although compensation will depend on experience, health and welfare benefits are not offered. Bonuses will depend on productivity and profitability.
