Hello, sax player of over 20 years and vocalist here. I play with a band regularly but I also sub where I can. I have been called upon by several local bands in the past and already have some dates filled (see below). If you have a gig that you would like to incorporate saxophone or vocals into with someone that needs little to no rehearsal please reply to this. I am looking to sub as many gigs as I can to make a little extra cash this holiday season (I'm a State worker by day you see). Can read charts or incorporate improvational solos where need. We fully agree with the initial posting. This will make some of the political venues that use people like TEI, honest. With websites and EPK's the venues themselves will have to compete for the REAL talent, as well, due to easy access through,-Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, E Blog, what have you... With the information age stealing the "Black Book" from the hands of the booking agents and venue owners, we can now start seeing other venues start to blow political venues, like Powerhouse Pub, Rockin Rodeo, Coaches, The Wrangler Bar etc. completely out of the water and send them to the cleaners, like they all deserve, for being ignorant enough to do business with crooked booking agents. The best bands in Northern California shouldn't use booking agents for bars, silly! why? Are they too busy touring or something, that they can't speak for themselves?? Hell no, if they were, they wouldn't be playing in bars!!!! Wake up fools, get rid of the middleman, burn these lazy, dickhead, booking agents , or at least make them get off their asses and recruit REAL talent. Now earn what your worth, musicians!

Coach's uses the political booking agents that have zero talent because of politics. No wonder the place is always dead. The manager there should be fired. The bowling alley is what keeps that place from drowning. This is exactly what happens when agents like TEI infect venues, then don't do their jobs, like packing venues with new talent, but us owners are catching on quick. The information age is here, ie.- Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, etc. and booking agents will now get theirs and actually have to get off their asses and start booking real talent, not just locking people into ridiculous contracts, because venue owners and corporations are quickly realizing that a press kit can be seen and heard now, in a matter of seconds, through an email, can you say "EPK?". So, you crooked booking agents need to realize, that we can see the REAL talent that is local now, on our own and book them a hell of a bunch cheaper. Now maybe you musicians can quit bitching about pay and speak for yourselves and stop letting these fools speak for you.

Greetings, My name is Mark & I am a private music instructor - you may have seen my advertisements here on craigslist.

I am currently looking for beginner to intermediate musicians who would like the experience of playing in a band setting without any of the stress generally associated with a band. There are currently two classes, both on Saturdays, one at 2PM and the other at 4PM. There is currently one opening for a guitar player in each class. Hopefully someone who wants to be a lead guitar player??? If not a lead player, a rhythm player who is willing to learn some lead maybe?

Each week we select a song to work on for that week. Then, every Saturday, we will gather to jam in a band setting. I have a drum machine that will be our drummer and I will play whatever instrument (as needed) to fill out the mix until we fill up the class (with 4 musicians). The cost of the 1 & 1/2 hour long session is only $10 per week, per person - cash only, payable at each class.

I have done many of these classes and the musicians involved have been very happy with the outcome. There is no judgment of your skill level or ability, but rather a nurturing environment to learn and progress while playing with others. We will make this band class whatever the participants need it to be. The genres of music, who plays what part, etc will be determined by you the participants of the band class. Most of all, the class will be fun. If you have never played in a band but wanted to, you will love this class. Everyone who has participated in these classes has really enjoyed them and you will too!

The details:
Depending upon the guitar, normally no more than 1 hour is needed for neck adjustment, intonation, action set and thorough neck / fret cleaning and polishing. Or possible neck re-set for bolt ons. Even fret leveling and recrowning, if needed. At no additional charge. I also do pick-up installations, mods and general intrument mainteinance repairs (cracked necks, etc.)
HOW MUCH?
$30 per guitar / hour . $40 for guitars with Floyd Rose tremelo systems. Sorry, they take a lot more time and attention. Mods, repairs, etc. depends upon the service. But generally still falls within the set-up price range. No corners cut. Just reasonable prices.

I work by appointment only and require a 24 hour notice so I may schedule my day around your guitar. I work from my home and my available hours are Monday - Friday (9AM - 5PM). Also the ocassional Saturday morning if the weekend is the only time you have available.

Not to worry, your instrument is safe and secure in a climate controled envirement. Also, you will play it and give me your feedback before you leave. I'll then make any adjustments you may request. It has to right for you before you pay me.
Or if you have the time, you can watch me do it. I'll be more than happy to teach you how to do it yourself.

We are still looking for a select few (well seasoned) musicians to complete this EAGLES tribute band project. So far, we already have:

I'm a (female) teenage musician (15) looking for bandmates *cough* who care about something other than MTV and video games*cough* anywhere from 14 - 19; don't hold my age against me and I won't hold yours against you.
I've already got a guitarist (I've all but formally recruited for him) but another wouldn't hurt, especially one who can sing without sounding like they need a throat lozenge, no screaming/growling. Please none. And then a drummer. Someone who can play fast and keep a steady beat.
I'm looking for people who haven't completely given up on any rock star dreams (the gift of youth, I guess) they had, and are willing to be serious about a band (practicing on a regular basis, not leaving the band unless they're in a body bag) but not so serious about anything else, for the sake of fun.

Acoustic or electric, six-string or bass, any guitar can be made to play better and sound better than it currently does.

I do high-end, precision setups, setting the foundation for your instrument to produce it's best tone and lowest action. This I accomplish by removing the factors which inhibit tone. For example, I specialize in custom corrective woodworking, neck re-sets and custom corrective fretwork, including complete and/or partial re-fret jobs.

I also do other corrective woodworking repairs, such as re-gluing loose or broken top and back braces, re-mounting pickguards, and other needed repairs, including general restoration and refurbishing of older instruments.

Another valuable offering is the aftermarket compensated nut system, available for most electric and acoustic guitars, which minimizes the inherent tuning discrepancies between first-position chords and chords higher up on the neck. I custom-make these compensated nuts from scratch, from genuine bone, for the best fit, appearance, tone and inonation.

My electronic repairs and upgrades can enhance and optimize your electric guitar's signal, also. Perhaps you would like to have a high-quality pickup system installed on your acoustic guitar, or maybe an on-board distortion circuit install on your guitar's tone control. I also offer pickup coil re-winding; I can overwind your guitar's pickups to hot-rod them, or bring a dead pickup back to life. Don't replace that vintage pickup....have it re-wound instead!

Male, mid 30's. If you want history I can give you that info in an email or private meeting.. I'm not new to the local music scene. I have equipment, including a PA. I also have a place to rehearse. I have recording experience(mostly DIY), but still I can play to a click track.
I've played live at several of the local rock clubs. Stage presence, professionalism, and dedication are a few of my strong points..
I have a job/career, and transportation. No delusions or wild eyed dreams of making it in the music business, but I'm not afraid to work for it as long as we are building a fan base that increases, and the music is appealing to the crowds..

I'm interested in forming or joining a mainstream rock-metal band with hard driving, rocking grooves, with 3-5 chord song structures, including more or less 2-3 verses, pre-chorus/chorus, bridge, and catchy Guitar riffs, and hooks, with shredding solos, and great vocals, and harmonies that you can dance or head bang to and that attracts 25-45 year age bracket.. Recording demos and a full length album(s) for promotions, gigs, etc

Ive been playing guitar and singing/songwriting for about 15 years and have played in several punk bands and have played damn near every venue in Sacramento. I have gear and a place to jam near downtown. I'm looking for a drummer and another guitar player to collaborate with at first. I have a ton of songs written and would like like another guitar player to step it up a notch. My influences are Dead Boys, 999, Stiff Little Fingers, Slaughter & Dogs, Iggy Pop ect. I don't want to play your stereotypical fast punk. I want it raw and to stick with rock 'n roll. I'm 25 yo and would prefer everyone be over 21 since we will be playing bars. My last bands have failed because someone is either always drunk, on coke, or has a jealous fucking girlfriend. I have a professional career and not trying to be a rock star. I would like to jam 1-2 times a week for a few hours and play shows every other weekend. When we get our shit down, I can promise great shows with great bands at great venues, and I'm friends with a lot of reputable local artists and promoters and have hookups for gigs in SF/BAY, RENO, L.A., and Vegas. My influences for this new project include: Pink Floyd, Queen, A Perfect Circle, Muse, Tool, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins. I also have lots of heavier influences but whenever I list them it seems to attract people who only want to play metal. What's with that? Hey, I like to play metal as much as the next guy, but I like over-all dynamics in the music. Meaning, there's a time for the heavy parts and a time for the groovy stuff and a time for the clean ambient stuff. Right?
