POSITION:
Lead Residential Counselor

SALARY:
$11-12.30 per Hour depending on Verifiable Previous Experience and Education

OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Cottage/House Supervisor, the Lead Residential Counselor ensures that the children in the assigned cottages are provided supervision and appropriate care and that the care is in compliance with all Community Care Licensing and Title 22 regulations. The Lead Residential Counselor works collaboratively with the treatment team to ensure the safety and security, as well as the psychological and physical needs of the children are being met. The Lead Residential Counselor provides work direction and guidance to Residential Counselors (RC’s) within their cottage for the care of the children.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensures the safety of the residents at all times.
  • Assist the children in the performance of regular daily activities, including bed making, personal hygiene, room cleaning, and all other chores normally expected of children their ages.
  • Work closely and maintain consistent and appropriate communication with all other staff members as a part of a comprehensive treatment team, including assistance during day rehabilitation groups when necessary.
  • Pro-act and check in with the children frequently to prevent crisis situations.
  • May assist in the administration of allowance/incentive programs/resident funds to the residents in an accurate manner, ensuring record keeping and compliance with all CCL standards, and agency policies and practices.
  • Ensures that the daily meals are prepared per menus and that CDE meal count report is complete and accurate, in conjunction with the Lead Cook and Cottage/House Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in a Behavioral Science is preferred.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in residential or group home setting working with at risk youths.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
