A security guard must have in his/her possession a valid security guard registration or a screen-print of the Bureau's approval from the Bureau's web site at www.dca.ca.gov/bsis, along with a valid photo identification, before working as a security guard.
Security guards are employed by licensed private patrol operators to protect persons or property and prevent theft. To be eligible to apply for a security guard registration, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Undergo a criminal history background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI);
and

In Olivehurst California (near Marysville):
We need P/T and full time graveyard officers. These are all graveyard positions and we need full time, part time and weekends officers. One site is a 4 week temporary construction site.
We also have special one night events from Roseville to Yuba City on Fridays and Saturdays if you just need some extra cash from low key events like weddings or baptisms. These events are usually 4 to 7 hrs in length.
You will need a vehicle and cell phone for these sites but no driving will be required while on site. You will be working in fenced in areas and conducting VIGILANT observations and providing a uniformed presence of the property to deter and help prevent trespassing, theft and vandalism. More detailed info to be provided at interview. The hours are from 2200-0600. Vigilance , staying alert and having a professional experienced attitude and demeanor are paramount for my clients and for our company. We pay a fair wage and expect our officers to work with an attitude of Integrity while having a history of excellent work ethics.
In Sacramento California:
We need two armed officers who are looking for part time on call work. These shifts are on Fri/Sat/Sun and are 12 hour shifts usually running from 1800-0600 but flexibility is important with this client. Sometimes it is every weekend sometimes it is once a month but on average you will be working about 2 weekends a month. Sometimes the call can be last minute due to the nature of the business so please keep this in mind when applying, more will be explained during the interview and background process.
All of my positions are ARMED therefore it is imperative that you have armed experience and escalation and deescalation training and experience. The general qualifications are listed on our web site but at a minimum you should have Firearm and Pepper Spray and cuffs but Taser and / or Baton is a major plus.

•Owns shrink and safety results for the store and supports Loss Prevention five plays strategy
•Detection, investigation and successful resolution of all internal cases. (Must successfully complete the SHC Wicklander-Zulawski interviewing and interrogation certification program).

•Ensures the proper operation and oversees repairs of alarm, EAS and CCTV equipment
•Educates and motivates Store Management and associates to achieve shrink, workers compensation and general liability goals
•Works as a liaison between Kmart and the criminal justice community
•Demonstrates courageous leadership by identifying and communicates potential ethical or safety issues that must be addressed at a higher level.
•Reports and manages critical incidents to Store Coach and District Loss Prevention Coach
•Completes and follows-up on required inventories and audits in order to control costs and shrinkage
•Reports, records and follows-up on customer accidents and assists when necessary in the investigation of associate accidents in order to resolve and reduce incident frequency and severity

Experienced: Minimum of two years of security management experience, preferably in a similar environment. Military and law enforcement background is a plus, but not required.
Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, prioritize responsibilities, supervise, coach, and motivate subordinate. Must be security oriented. Bilingual is a plus, but not required
Mental:
Requires persistence and determination, an eye for details, leadership skills, excellent verbal communication skills, ability to focus and ability to multi-task
