JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Programmer/Analyst must demonstrate the ability to design, maintain and enhance new and existing applications. Crucial to this position is the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•In addition to programming, responsibility for testing of software through the Alpha phase, documenting and communicating at the technical level the purpose and functions of the software and its application. Communications must be strong and sufficient for training others and for releasing the software to QA, Documentation and user training.
•Organization of a development environment and maintaining control of source code, including versioning and parallel development paths using source code control systems like NetBean, MS SourceSafe and CVS.
•Working in support of other departments, corrects software deficiencies, introduces enhancements and customizes the software to meet particular customers’ needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
•BA in Computer Sciences or related degree and 3+ years experience programming
•Experience with Windows 2003 Server, XP and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS
•Well versed in relational database theory, 2+ years programming MS SQL Server 2000 and/or 2005
•Design, maintain and enhance new and existing applications written in Sun/Microsoft Java, Visual Basic/VBA/VB.Net, C++ and scripting languages such as JavaScript and Linux utilities (Bash shell, sed, nawk, etc.)
•Networks and Web experience with HTML, XML, XSTL, ASP/ASP.Net and other Web servers; such as Apache and Tomcat. Strong knowledge of browsers such as IE and Firefox.
•Experience with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a strong plus.
•Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with other programmers, analysts, quality assurance, technical writers, and trainers.
•The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing is essential.
•VMWare, Ajax, MS Access, Excel, MS IIS and MySQL experience is a plus.
•Telecommunications software such as; PBXs, TEM systems and call accounting experience highly desired.
