Murphy’s Magic Supplies, Inc. is looking for someone who is familiar with application development and the .NET framework (3.0 and 3.5). This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to apply their programming skills and abilities. Job duties would include the following *read the bottom for a complete and current task list:
• Software development using primarily C#, ASP.NET and SQL. Development would be done working on a team. Application development includes Windows Applications, Web Applications, and Web Services. We currently use MS Visual Studios 2005 (we plan to upgrade to 2008 in the near future)
• Creating and maintaining a SQL database(s) through which the application(s) will read/write data.
• Using descriptive variable conventions and writing intuitive and readable code
We provide a job environment that is both fun and productive! During the interview process, you'll be asked to supply an example application that was primarily written by you. This application should use an SQL DB. Also, expect to be asked questions during the interview process about coding.
Job requirements:
• AGILE Software development comprehension and/or experience.
• Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc…
• Taking direction, working cooperatively with fellow employees, and multi-tasking
• Business logic and awareness of general business practices a plus
• A fun, inventive, and positive problem-solving attitude!
Preferred experience:
• C# development experience a plus(including fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming).
• ASP.NET web application development.
• SQL (database programming).
• Good spelling and grammar.
Compensation: $30+/hr DOE plus a comprehensive benefits package. *We are migrating from an ASP-based application to an internally hosted database solution and will rely on the developer to manage our internal database, develop automated reports, and use new web/net based technologies to incorporate xml based apps into our customers' systems. In addition, the developer will assist in customizing the application with scripting and/or a "shell" as needed. The developer will also assist in writing back-end code for the ecommerce portion of the site as it relates to the new application. We are also looking for a developer who is capable of leveraging new technologies to, for example, help design and develop a download/streaming app and other exciting technologies. We are realistic in the time expectations for these projects and are merely listing several upcoming projects to show illustrate our need and commitment to growing this position and the individual who fills it.
