Job Summary:
Analizes, designs, codes, tests, implements, maintains, and documents computer system software. The developer usually works on multiple software projects and with multiple operating environments, development utilities, and programming languages. The developer also analyzes user hardware and software needs and recommends upgrades or new purchases. Other duties may be assigned.
Roles and Responsibilites:
Evaluate existing or forthcoming processes and provide recommendations on software to support or improve the process. Work with other employees and clients to establish functional requirements for applications and interface utilities. Design and document practical test plans for applications and utilities which relate to established business needs. Create and integrate applications and utilities to address a variety of needs. Design and create lucid training and support documentation for applications and utilities. Support and perform the functional and performance testing of applications and utilities. Effectively communicate the results of any diagnosis or testing to the appropriate stakeholders. Safely implement new or changed applications and interface utilities in the production environment. Diagnose production problems in existing proprietary applications and utilities as they are encountered. Rapidly provide "work around" solutions for immediate production problems in existing applications and utilities. Design and code modifications to proprietary applications and utilities which prevent the reoccurrence of problems encountered. Administer and maintain selected commercial software interacting with existing applications and utilities. Provide end user support for proprietary applications and utilities.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; and two years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a degree of knowledge of the following software:
Proficient in the following:
ANSI SQL / T-SQL, MS Windows Server, MS Office, ASP.NET VB.NET or C#.NET, XHTML / DHTML
Intermediate in the following:
Ajax, Web Services, Cold Fusion
