Operates keyboard or other data entry device to enter data into computer.
Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computerfollowing format displayed on screen.
Compares data entered with source documents, or re-enters data in verificationformat on screen to detect errors and keeps record of work completed.
Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
Deletes incorrectly entered data, and re-enters correct data.
Researches and looks up information or data using various systems screens.
Downloads reports and data onto diskettes as needed.
Notifies supervisor of data entry related problems.
May perform general clerical duties as needed, such as collating documents,assembling materials and stuffing envelopes.
High school diploma or GED and two years related experience and/or training; orequivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with computer keyboards and ability to access and enter data toautomated systems.
May require the ability to enter 8,000 key strokes per hour with no more than 5%error rate.
Ability to work quickly and in situations with little or no supervision.
Ability to develop new concepts and/or techniques to improve effectiveness inexecution of tasks.
Good interpersonal and communications skills.
