Rapidly growing Pharmacy Benefit Management company is looking for a Business Analyst to join our IT team.
General Description:
Act as liaison between end-users/customers and IT department. Employee will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs; formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies; write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs; work under limited supervision; and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. An exceptional amount of creativity is expected, with a wide range of latitude given. Leading and directing the work of others is possible.
Duties:
• develop project plans and provide status updates on project progress
• interview end-users/customers to define business requirements for complex software modifications and enhancements
• define and document requirements to assist in the development of software specifications to include flowcharts, report mockups, and business rules
• work with programmers as well as end-users to ensure that projects are completed on time and remain within defined specifications and budget
• provide support to software development and quality assurance staff as needed
• provide technical services to customers relating to the company’s business processes, system requirements, and other technical issues
• facilitate quality assurance testing of projects under development
• establish and document an audit process supporting quality assurance of completed projects
• demonstrate ability to do the following—

o comply with corporate policies, goals, and objectives
o accept constructive criticism
Knowledge and Skills:
• work experience with project-level risk assessments, documentation, and evaluation of internal controls—including flow narratives, and audit workpapers
• knowledge of audit techniques as well as an understanding of generally accepted accounting principals
• strength in written and verbal communication
• strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolving abilities
• ability to handle confidential information appropriately and know when to raise issues
• assertiveness in seeking out information and obtaining logical answers
• ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting, and make professional decisions
• ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
• strong work ethic characterized by high integrity and professionalism
• solid technical background with programming experience a plus
• self-starter and initiative-taker
Educational and Other Requirements:
• BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3-5 years related experience as business analysis, working with business units to acquire and document business rules—experience with software development life cycles preferred
• passing criminal background check
