POSITION: Technical Support Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides overall technical support to internal and external customers on Volcano systems. Responds to technical calls, emails, and faxes, by providing answers to questions, troubleshooting guidance, and follow up to reported problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical assistance to all customers (which may include end users, Volcano field sales and service employees, distributors, and third party service providers) for Volcano products. During a scheduled time, responds to inquiries received via telephone hotline, email, or other written forms. Answers questions, analyzes problems, determines course of action to correct problem reported and ensures action is taken.
Documents all service activities and complaints in database. Must recognize complaints and potential safety complaints and handle according to procedures. Follows up on opened cases to close out the case and ensures that customer is satisfied.
Assists and instructs customers by phone or in person with the operation various systems and products.
Provides technical input and review to service manuals, bulletins, and other technical documentation as needed.
Assist with technical service training as needed.
As necessary, performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION:
Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology, technical equivalent, or equivalent training and/or experience in electronics or a related technical field
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires 3+ years experience in electromechanical/electronic system
troubleshooting
Solid understanding of technical components including equipment, concepts and
procedures
Solid knowledge and understanding of imaging ultrasound principles
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to and from Volcano office.
