The Project Manager serves as a project management resource for the Sacramento Sierra Region (SSR) in support of the strategic plan for information technology (IT). This position will assist Senior Project Managers in running a local Project Management Office (PMO), coordinate efforts with the Sutter Health IT PMO and other project managers, assist with clinical or business project initiatives and lead assigned projects, including the implementation of system standard applications and those niche systems not supported by Sutter Health IT. By providing project management skills in coordinating and consulting, this position helps to manage risk in a complex, changing environment, and to deliver IT projects on time, within budget, and according to system, SSR and affiliate requirements. In addition, this position helps achieve desired business and clinical outcomes in support of SSR and Sutter Health goals and objectives.
Education:A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Healthcare Management, Business, or other related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. If degree is in administration/management, specialized coursework and/or experience in computerized information management is required. Certification in project management by a nationally recognized professional association is preferred.
Experience: Significant prior experience in information systems implementation and project management is required. Experience using project management software tools is required. Experience managing multiple projects in a matrixed environment is preferred. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
