Job Description<br>
<br>
I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION<br>
Provides word processing support to technical and marketing staff in preparation of complex reports, proposals, form letters, mailing lists, and other documents, as necessary.<br>

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>
• Inputs documents, including reports, correspondence, transmittals, agendas, and forms using appropriate word processing software.<br>
• Formats documents.<br>
• Integrates text, tables, graphs, charts, and figures as necessary.<br>
• Proofs own work for continuity, sentence structure, and accuracy.<br>
• Revises work as directed.<br>
• Assembles documents for printing.<br>
• Retrieves and prints computer or word processing-generated documents.<br>
• Maintains document files and disk directories (electronic and hard copy).<br>
• Reports to Facilities Manager to provide status reports and to coordinate efforts.<br>
• Maintains frequent contact with document production coordinator to ensure timely completion.	<br>

III. EDUCATION REQUIRED<br>
• High school graduate; college degree or vocational training in associated field is preferred.  <br>

IV. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES OF POTENTIAL CANDIDATE:<br>
• 3–5 years experience in the production and formatting of large documents (200+ pages).<br>
• Expert knowledge of creating, editing, clearing Microsoft Word (Word) styles.<br>
• Expert in using Word’s automatic feature to create captions, table of contents, and list of figures.<br>
• General familiarity working with files across a network; network configuration concepts (drives).<br>
• Advanced to expert knowledge of page layouts and Word’s relevant features: margins, headers, footers, mirror margins, font types and related kerning and character spacing issues.<br>
• Solid understanding of “review” feature, which includes using commenting, track changes, versions, printing forms thereof.<br>
• Adept at handling auto numbered lists: bulleted, numbered, outline format.<br>
• Skill at creating, editing, revising tables.<br>
• Comfort with working in various Word views: normal, print layout, outline, document map.<br>
• Familiarity with Word templates.<br>
• Understanding how to use and edit Word’s proofing tools: spell and grammar check, purge styles tools.<br>
• Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated facility with written and verbal business English, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary.<br>
• Knowledge of environmental consulting or building industry would be helpful.<br>
• Typing speed - minimum 60 words per minute.<br>
• Proven ability to create results and complete assignments in a timely fashion, many times under strict deadlines, while maintaining positive attitude and professionalism.<br>

seeking an Underwriting Associate (Associate Underwriter) - Small Group in the
Lodi office.

Job description:
<br>
Collects and analyzes data required to determine the degree of risk and assist
with underwriting new policies, annual renewals and amendments for small group
or individual/family plan applicants.
<br>
Performs initial review of applications for adherence to underwriting standards,
noting variances.
<br>
Requests additional information from applicants, physicians, group
representative, or others as required.
<br>
For individual health applications, recommends waivers, restrictions and
rejections.
<br>
Prepares reports and participates in research projects as assigned. Receives
training on more complex underwriting functions and statistical analysis.
<br>
Responds verbally or in writing to inquiries from applicants, sales
representative or other underwriters.
<br>
Calculates renewal rates and prepares related paperwork.

Requirements:
<br>
Bachelor's degree and one year experience in underwriting or related business
field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
<br>
Working knowledge of PCs and related software applications, specifically spread
sheet calculations and design.
<br>
Understanding of medical terminology, medical underwriting guidelines and
medical records is essential.
<br>
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
<br><br>
