Large Wood Framed Western Art Cowboy & Native Americans Artwork: Sally Huss
This artwork is professionally framed in a minimalist wooden frame.
About the Artist:
Sally Huss was raised in Bakersfield, California where she took her first oil painting lessons at the age of 10. She excelled in art classes throughout her early education and received a degree in Fine Arts from University of Southern California. After college Sally worked in the film, television, and music industry. Eventually her own art took a dominant role in her life and she started to write books and produce gift art. From an outsiderês view, Sally and her team are in the business of selling art and gifts. But from the inside, they are in the business of transforming attitudes and uplifting spirits. Sally Huss began her full-time art career in 1985 and since then more than ten million pieces of gift art has been sold.
“Bright and happy, sweet and whimsical” are the words that have been associated with my art and creations for over forty years. Whether in the form of original paintings or serigraphs, designs for clothing, purses, wallpaper, greeting cards, ceramics, baby bibs and children's books, even a King Features newspaper panel it is always happy in nature and free-spirited in style. Delightful beach scenes, delicate seascapes, colorful florals, sensitive Asian designs and contemporary landscapes, plus an extensive line of art for children filled 26 Sally Huss Galleries throughout the US and Japan and Switzerland in the 1980’s. During that time this happy art found its way into millions of homes and offices across the country, including those of Clint Eastwood, Kirk Douglas, Larry Hagman, Joel Gray, Mitt Romney, and more. Prior to a career in art, I spent my youth developing my tennis talents, becoming National and Wimbledon Junior Champion and eventually a Wimbledon semi-finalist in singles and doubles in the Women’s Division. This was before the open era in tennis. With no professional opportunities available in the sport, I changed directions – working in television for Ralph Story, in film for Samuel Goldwyn, Jr., and then in music running Paul Simon’s music publishing company. In the late 70’s I married Marv Huss, former Head of Advertising and Promotion for Hallmark Cards. We created a tennis and health resort in Aspen. Again, change was in order. We made our way to California where we combined our talents (his promotion and mine art) and set about developing a line of Sally Huss Galleries offering my art, licensed products and writings. When 9/11 hit, retail closed down and my focus became children’s books. Now that particular catalog of books numbers over 100!
