Rare matched pair of David Cressey “Cheerio” planters, model AP-505, designed in the 1960s for Architectural Pottery as part of their Pro/Artisan Studio Collection. These iconic vessels feature Cressey’s signature impressed circle motif, nicknamed “Cheerio” applied to thick stoneware bodies and finished in a striking cobalt blue glaze, one of the less commonly seen colorways from this line.
Both planters have original central drain holes and raw, unglazed bases consistent with mid-century production. Like many pieces from this collection, they are unmarked but exhibit all the correct hallmarks: form, pattern, materials, and finish.
