This exquisite blue and white porcelain and rose sandstone carved 13" globe incense burner was purchased 2nd hand in Kyoto, Japan 1952. When I got it appraised we questioned whether it might have come from China originally. Both cultures have Foo Dog/Lion in much of their art. And the "coolies" carrying the world on their backs (notice the fine detail of their fingers!) But it was determined that is is from Japan originally and was appraised at $1200. I am firm at $1000. Must see it to enjoy the detailed pics in each swirl.
