Bicycles of this quality in ready to ride condition don’t show up on Craigslist very often. 1970 Swiss Cilo frameset with Shimano Dura Ace bar end shift lever, headset, hubs, 9 speed cassette, and side-pull brakes - all Dura Ace, Shimano’s top of the line premium components. Front derailleur is Shimano XTR. Rear derailleur is Shimano Deore. Crankset is Suntour XC LTD triple with 48, 38, 24 rings. Middle ring is FSA 9 speed with ramps and pins for quick shifting. Small ring is the famous 24 tooth Ninja stainless steel granny gear.
9 speed Dura Ace cassette has titanium cogs custom 13-27. This gearing combination gives you close spaced gears for any circumstance with lower gears for hills when you are tired. Ideal custom gearing for long endurance rides. I built this bicycle for riding centuries.
Wheels are well tuned with Mavic Open 4CD 700c rims and quality stainless steel spokes, mounted on very smooth Dura Ace hubs. 26mm fast rolling tires.
Very comfortable saddle has just enough padding with titanium rails for lightweight and extra flex. Handle bars are ergonomic with fresh cushioned tape and new Tectro ergonomic brake levers. Seat post is light and easily adjusted. Extra long Nitto Technomic stem for taller people. Pedals are Shimano Deore mountain SPD double sided.
These components have very little use. Bike is well tuned and ready to ride.
Cilo was a classic Swiss brand with a strong racing heritage. They made this frameset about 1970 and equipped it originally with the finest Campagnolo components and Universal center pull brakes. The frame is the best handling and most comfortable that I have ever ridden. Double butted Reynolds 531 tubing throughout - as good as it gets and far better than anything on the new market. Campagnolo dropouts. Frame has been spread to 130mm. Seat tube measures 22.5” center to top. Top tube is 22.5” center to center. Chain stay is 17.5.
If you understand the quality of this frameset and component mix, give me a call.
