This is a handbuilt sailing dinghy, completed c. 2002. The Shellback Dinghy is a Joel White design and handles very well under sail or oar power. It's gaff-rigged with no jib and can be single-handed. It sailed many times on midwestern lakes (never salt water) but it has not been in the water for about 15 years now due to various moves and shifting life priorities. It has been stored indoors throughout its life. The hull and paint are in great shape. It comes with a sailing rig, rudder and tiller, daggerboard, and oars.
I'm looking for a new owner who will appreciate the craftsmanship and tradition of wooden boat building and hopefully put back it in the water.
The boat does not have a trailer - I used to transport it on a roof rack. It weighs about 120 lbs and it's possible for two strong adults to load/unload it.
