I built a rowing shell about 40 years ago. It’s a Kingfisher, 22.5’, I found the plans in Wooden Boat Magazine. The plans are still available from the WoodenBoat Store. I followed the lines exactly, but I didn’t build it the way the plans prescribe, I built it as a skin-on-frame. I re-skinned it about four years ago, with an extremely rugged fabric. I think they use this stuff for big truck tarps. I’ve built kayaks with it and it holds up extremely well.
It has never been used very much, but it rows beautifully. It weighs 50 pounds or a bit less. It comes with a pair of carbon Dreissigacker Concept 2 racing oars, in very good condition. I think the sliding seat assembly and the riggers came from Piantedosi. It’s ready to use.

I think it would probably cost quite a bit more to find something comparable, but I’m asking $1400 for it. I’m open to offers.
