When Students Need A Tutor, They Need One With Education, Experience &Enthusiasm & Encouragement Skill
As the new year begins, this is a good time to assess educational need and to schedule ongoing tutoring sessions and extra sessions during holiday periods for those needing to catch up and/or to review work of the current year to fill in any deficiencies and prepare for the year ahead. Tutoring is available for K-12 grades, Community College, University & amp; Adult Community students, including help with writing papers.
Tutor Background includes:
Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Education; Master of Arts in English/Creative Writing; ABD for Doctorates in Adult Education and Educational Leadership and Change.
Experience includes: Completed teacher preparation/Student Teaching; Director of University Campus Wide Tutoring Program for students in sciences and other Educational Programs. 20+ years of individual tutoring experience for Club Z and other area tutoring companies and private, individual tutoring in student homes or libraries .
Extensive community service and experience in educational programs serving Multi-Cultural Communities, Women and Girls, and students in Sacramento, Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, Del Paso Heights, Natomas, North Highlands, Rancho Cordova.
Patient, Caring Instruction which Encourages and Boosts Self-Esteem through Achievement. Former students from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds: African American, Armenian American, Asian American, Chicano American /Cuban American/Honduran American, and other Latino Americans, Chinese American,, Middle Eastern American/Arab American, European American, Hmong American, Indian American, Native American, Pacific Island American, Russian American, and Vietnamese American backgrounds, as well as international student from these and other backgrounds and countries. Have also worked with adults and their employers, including farm workers. All students do well with support. Teach reading and writing in Spanish, especially to students who speak and understand Spanish but do not read or write it.
Depending on student schedule availability, lessons may be scheduled from 10 AM to 7 PM, 7 days a week. Sessions are usually one-hour sessions, twice a week and may be scheduled for weekdays and/or weekends. Tutoring fee: $25 per hour. Payment agreement 1 week (2 sessions) in advance.
Tutoring provided by a professional, experienced tutor can best meet student needs and can respond effectively to special needs. Openings currently available for up to 3 students for 2 hours each per week are being scheduled now.
