A copper ships lantern manufactured by J.H. Peters & Bey in Hamburg, Germany. It's three sided with red and clear lenses. The serial numbers all match, the lens, the the lantern and the internal oil lamp housing. It appears it was put into service in 1952 according to the etched serial# & date on the clear lens. There is no chimney for the oil lamp. It would take one 2" at the base and about 6" tall.
Lantern is 3 sided, with the flat sides measuring 9.5" and the front radius measures 17" and has a height of approx. 20". Heavy for it's size.
Examine the pictures, they describe the lantern better than words.
