Art McCarthy signed limited print 272/500 of a high detailed tall 3 mast sailing ship coming out of the fog on a wavy beautiful ocean. Comes with original matt and frame as mounted by the artist. Highly detailed print of Sail sailing ship with extra matting appear in excellent condition. As can be expected, the vintage frame has some minor scratches/nicks. Signed print and 22" x 25" frame with artist dedication on back. View photos for details - appears to have 3 to 4 times matting as if the artist took extra care in presentation of this as a gift. Very elegant custom matting and frame matches the grandeur of the ship in the painting.
Celebrated American artist Art McCarthy had a studio in Fullerton, CA but traveled often to the East Coast. Art McCarthy loved painting ships and is known to have taken photographs and then made detailed paintings from those photographs.
Framed and unusual triple matted and double signature with artist signature on the front of the painting and on the back of the painting: dedicated and signed with authors hand writing to Linda and Leyla 8-26-88. Below is a stamp of his Art Studio in Fullerton, CA with address and these hand-written numbers “C–575” and “272/500.” Three masted ship with rigging details may have been painted from a photosgraph taken by the artist on East Coast.
