This Jetta TDI was my daily driver, consistently delivering 49-52 MPG on commutes to the Bay Area. This car was well cared for when it was younger, and the interior is still in good condition. It starts with a simple bump of the key, even after sitting for months.
Work I've Done:
* Resealed the injection pump
* Re-keyed and fixed the glovebox
* MK4 04J shifter upgrade
Known Issues / Needs:
* Timing belt is due. I typically alternate between just the belt and a full kit, so a belt-only job could be done this time.
* Oil leaks and PCV need to be fixed.
* AC works and blows cold, but re-foaming the flapper door would make it even better (heat too).
* Needs a new driver's side wiper arm.
* CV boots and rear shocks need replacement.
Note: On certain inclines, it can sometimes take a few cranks to start. I would check the fuel screen.
I was planning to keep this car, do all the maintenance, and some upgrades, but without my grandfather's shop space, I need to move. See my other ads for MK1 GTI restoration parts, ALH and BEW engines, diesel van...
