Car was in perfect running condition until 2 weeks ago. Now has catastrophic break failure. It has not been checked out, so I'm not certain the problem. However, it seems similar to when the break censor went out about 7 years ago, which cost $3000 for repair. There are 2 other problems: 1. Sometimes the hybrid battery drains overnight. It charges right away when driven. It is inconsistent in how long it stays charged--sometimes as long as 2 weeks before it drains again. 2. It needs a new tail light, which is LED and over $300 for the part. I was going to have that repaired this month.
This car has received regular maintenance for 21 years. Single owner. Tires are almost new. It just had an oil change 2 weeks ago and one head lamp replaced--that one is brand new.
The odometer stopped at 299,999. We have been keeping track of mileage using the trip meters. It is just under 400,000 now. All service has been completed at Elk Grove Toyota, and I have ALL the service records.
My nephew, Damon, will be receiving calls/inquiries for me since I am not often available to answer the phone or emails. --Kim
