Attention all you Ford fans or car nuts! For your consideration is a well sorted, unique 1965 Ford Custom sedan. The Galaxie lineup changed in 1965 with a new body style and frame. The lowest line offered in the new body style was called the "custom". Police municipalities, Government agencies and families on a budget sought this level as it came barebones and facilitated a variety of engine/transmission choices. This Ford Custom made its way through the East coast, finally settling in Pennsylvania where the new owner purchased it. Surprisingly, the original panels painted Wimbleton White were solid and left untouched revealing 60 years of patina and proper storage and. There is no rot and one small area of "surface rust" that was left untouched for the barn find look. A Ford fiberglass "tear-drop" hood was added. Under the hood lies the original 352 cubic inch FE motor mated to a 3-speed "cruise-o-matic" transmission. The engine was addressed with 390 heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake, and performance carb. For those hot days in Northern California, the cooling system was addressed with a large aluminum radiator, an automatic electric fan and transmission cooler. All misc parts are new for engine operations; battery alternator, wires, plugs, gaskets, etc.
Power steering was added as well as front disk brakes to help with stopping. The interior has totally been refinished in new seat upholstery, sound deadening, new carpet, new headliner and painted dash.
All electronics work except original radio, It powers up but we have not hooked up the speaker. -- we use a bluetooth speaker. Trunk is refinished with new speckled paint, floor mat, spare tire and jack. A vintage cooler comes with the car as well.
New 15" wheels, hubcaps and tires.
This car cruises effortlessly on the highway and stays cool all day. Drive as is or take to the next level! CA Registration is up to date, with clean title in hand. Sign her over and drive away!
