If you’re mechanically inclined or live in a CARB-free state, this is a fantastic, low-mileage JDM rig with tons of personality, potential, and presence.

The Good:
Since owning it, I’ve done the following work:
• Replaced the harmonic balancer
• Installed a Sony XAV-AX6000 stereo with Apple CarPlay
• New Kicker speakers in all four doors
• New rearview mirror
• Installed a wood grain Nardi steering wheel (removable)
• New belts, new aluminum radiator, and coolant
• New thermostat
• Previous owner replaced the timing belt (no exact date, but noted in pre-purchase inspection)
The Needs-Work:
• Fuel injector pump is leak (reseal kit included with sale)
• Clunking sound from the front—likely a worn bushing, but not yet diagnosed
• Rust present on the body; bolts/screws also show rust
• Dash lights and some gauges occasionally cut out; smacking the dash usually brings them back
• Needs new tires
Why I’m Selling:
I bought this van for road trips and adventures, but due to California’s CARB restrictions, it’s not feasible to register it here without major emissions work. Rather than sink $10k into compliance, I’m hoping to pass it on to someone in a different state—or someone with the means to take it further.
Final Thoughts:
This Delica is a blast to drive, draws smiles and conversations everywhere it goes, and has tons of potential as an overland rig or camper van. It’s not perfect, but with some TLC, it’ll be an amazing vehicle for the right owner.
