Early Engineers is our building program which uses kid-friendly tools such as LEGOs and K'NEX to teach Engineering concepts to children! Were looking for an instructor who can teach our after-school classes in the Elk Grove/South Sacramento area. Frequently Asked Questions from Candidates:
• What is the work schedule?
Shifts are available M-F from about 1:00-5pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays. Schedules are set and do not change. This is a very part-time position; instructors can expect to work 5-8 hours per week.
• Do I need a teaching credential?
Teaching Credentials are not required. In fact, most of our staff are currently in school to become teachers, but don't hold their credential just yet.
• Is there a training?
Yep! All trainings are paid and provided by us!
• Do I have to come up with the lesson plans?
No, we'll have all the lesson plans and supplies ready for you.
Necessary Skills to Be Successful:
You will be teaching classes independently; making it important that you arrive on-time to your shift in order to set up and be prepared when children walk in.
We all remember the teachers in our life that made a difference! We're looking for instructors who will have an upbeat personality and will be engaging with their lessons.
Being in charge of children is a great honor and a great responsibility. It is important that as educators we understand the responsibility and can comfortably engage with children.
Instructors must commit to instruction through the 2018-2019 school year (August- June); students deserve consistent and committed instructors each day!
$16.00/hr for instruction (about $30/class you teach)
$11.00/ hr for training/meetings
- Must have your own reliable transportation (car necessary).
- Must have access to a computer, printer and the internet.
- A background check and TB test is required; results of which may affect employment.
