Star Wars Trilogy Original Unedited Theatrical Release VHS Special Letterbox Collector's Edition 1992
This Star Wars Trilogy VHS Special Letterbox Collector's Edition from 1992 has all three movies (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) in their original unedited theatrical release in widescreen letterbox format. It also has the behind the scenes documentary From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga VHS. Plus a special abridged version of George Lucas: The Creative Impulse by Charles Champlin collector's book and a one-sheet Certificate of Authenticity with a message by George Lucas.
This is for true Star Wars fan collectors. The box is in decent shape, but the back of it towards the top is coming apart a little from whatever glue they used to finish it (see photos). The inner box slides in from the right side and still has the original styrofoam to protect the contents inside from moving around. Both the Return of the Jedi VHS tape and the From Star Wars to Jedi VHS tape are still sealed. Everything inside is in excellent condition. Please see the photos.
The outside box has a Deluxe Holographic Star Wars hologram portrait of Luke and Leia with C3-PO and R2-D2 slightly in the background and Darth Vader's helmet and the Death Star looming in the background. This collector's box set is cool just for that.
This box set is numbered 0656.
I'm sure even if you are not big on VHS, this collector box limited edition is worth getting.
I have not played these for ages and as a word of caution for anything like this, I'd recommend putting them through a fast forward/rewinder device before putting them into a VCR. If you don't have one, I'd recommend tracking one down. VHS is on analog tape and over time can lose some of its shape/integrity. I've been told to always store your VHS standing up and I've kept it that way while being stored.
You must be willing to get it at the Starbucks at 4301 Arden Way in the Whole Foods parking lot either in the evening or on the weekend.
