Pair of early Danish modern lounge chairs in solid beech with original finish—warm patina, no breaks or repairs, and light scuffs consistent with age. Designed by Ole Wanscher and produced by France & Daverkosen before their transition to France & Søn. Both chairs retain factory labels: France & Daverkosen gold foil and John Stuart Inc. medallions.
Wanscher, a student of Kaare Klint, was known for merging classical proportion with modernist restraint. The FD-109 reflects this in its sculpted arms, floating cushions, and compact, architectural frame—less bulky than other mid-century lounge chairs, but just as comfortable.
Original spring cushions are intact; fabric shows some staining. Reupholstery recommended to suit your space.
