A documented pair of lamp tables designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, circa 1947. Constructed of solid mahogany in the original finish with a branded Dunbar mark, these tables represent an important early example of Wormley’s work. This design marked his transition from traditional influences toward the modernist language that later defined American mid-century design.
Each table features an open lower shelf and deep espresso tone that highlights the natural grain. Wear includes minor edge and leg scuffs consistent with age but structurally solid throughout.
Referenced in Edward Wormley: The Other Face of Modernism (catalog no. 28, c.1947). A documented design with this provenance is highly collectible, reflecting the quality and craftsmanship that made Dunbar one of the premier American furniture makers of its time.
Ideal for mid-century, architect-designed, or minimalist interiors.
