Become the CDC's Continuum of Care (CoC) Coordinator Reporting to the Ending Homelessness Program Manager, the CoC Coordinator supervises and performs highly-specialized work related to the implementation and day-to-day administration of homelessness assistance, housing, community development, affordable housing, and other Commission programs. The ideal candidate will possess skill in coordinating the day-to-day administration of programs, and:
Professional experience in homelessness assistance, affordable housing, and/or community development programs
Expertise in identifying, analyzing, developing, and implementing multiple programs and projects
Experience analyzing and summarizing funding or project proposals for consideration by various panels, committees, or formal decision-making entities
A full understanding of the purpose and processing of documents related to community development programs at the federal, state, and local levels
Proficiency in applying for and managing federal, state, and local assistance programs and grant funding
Experience in community outreach and engagement, including facilitation of large public meetings
A strong familiarity with the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
About the CoC Coordinator's role in Sonoma County CDC The Commission is dedicated to creating homes, in thriving and inclusive neighborhoods, for all. While the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides funds to address the needs of homeless individuals and families, it is though the Commission's CoC system, Home Sonoma County, that locally-driven, comprehensive, and coordinated housing and services are delivered. It is the CoC Coordinator who works to ensure that financial and other resources are effectively used in a coordinated effort, to provide the full range of housing and service options needed to prevent/end homelessness and enable individuals experiencing homelessness to make the transition from homelessness to as high of a level of self-sufficiency as possible.
Responsibilities of the CoC Coordinator also include management of the annual CoC application process ($3.7 million in funding) and interfacing with HUD's electronic eSNAPS system; evaluating and certifying CoC projects to ensure each application is of a quality most likely to retain renewal funding and garner new funding; tracking HEARTH Act and related legislative and regulatory issues, and HUD communications, scoring, and requirements; and acting as a voice for Home Sonoma County's communications with County staff, partner agencies, HUD, and other homelessness program funders and advocates for the homeless.
