This red hen of ours was raised from a chick from Tractor Supply. She is now about three years old and is healthy, tame and friendly for a chicken. She sometimes lays medium sized brown eggs, but she also likes to peck open eggs and eat them. She may be no good for getting any eggs! Yet she can still serve as a pet chicken where ideally she can free range, control bugs and help keep the weeds down while naturally fertilizing and tilling the soil. Or maybe she can just keep your rooster company. Keep in mind that Costco will always have a much better deal on free range organic brown eggs. Her name is Tilda.
