I'm curious if anyone knows of a church someplace which provides/supports/encourages a social mixer program for senior singles. It seems like most all churches hold and encourage social events for youth; but sadly, it appears the only events for (adults) are bible study groups, knitting groups, grieving support groups, and a monthly insurance salesman lecturing on retirement plans, or a thirty-minute travelogue in a darkened room. The only actual (social) events I've found seem to be directed toward married couples with endless dollar resources for cruises.
Yes, I am seeking mixed singles groups / keywords social, single, senior.

I am a gentleman, a proud retired single veteran who really is saddened with the thought of a sports bar being the only welcoming show in town for single seniors. Sure, I love to play dominoes or dine out or take a fun ride, but not alone.

Q..... Am I the only one who feels this lack of focus on socialization for single adults?

Update : Interestingly, I did finally receive a depressing suggestion, (a bus that picks up seniors and takes them to a mall for two hours).....but no calls from any (Outreach Ministry) to either counter or console me. This tells me my observations are correct in the lack of concern by the ecumenical body to care about the feelings or this need of my generation, much less get involved enough to address a need.

Any thoughts out there? Please? Am I really alone in this concern?

Thank you. I'm listening.
