The quality of firewood generally speaking increases as the dry weight of a cord (128 cubic feet of stacked wood) increases. Approximate weights of this wood/cord are: Pine =2,000, cedar (cedar,cyprus, redwood, juniper, Deodara) =2,300, Medium Hardwood Mix (see above) 3,000, Oak (several varieties) 4,000, Eucalyptus=4,400, The premium hardwoods (Live Oak, Beefwood = SheOak, Chinese Elm, or Olive) are the densest firewoods available around Sacramento and weigh approximately 4,900 pounds per cord. This is why we charge $499.99 per cord for these premium hardwoods.

Caution!!! We have found that when we buy firewood from a small operator such as a tree trimmer or out of town supplier, they invariably deliver to us 4/10ths of what they estimate to be on their vehicle. Please!
Do the math : if that supplier offers you 1 cord at $350.00 per cord and delivers to you 4/10ths cord, you are actually paying $875.00/cord. This is my 49 year experience. Please buy from a reputable supplier with a local yard that you can go to and check the quality and measurements!!!!
