Vintage Gourmates Styled by Glo Hill serving platter plate tray. Glo Hill, known for their Mid-Century Modern or Art Deco styles, was a Canadian company established in Montreal in 1945 by Jack Globus and Harry Hill. They closed down in the 1970s. This tray is most likely chrome holloware - a vintage decorative metal process used on serving pieces such as trays, platters, and barware. Made from chrome plating usually over steel, this type of tableware was very popular in the mid-20th century, particularly for home entertaining and cocktail parties and was seen as a symbol of stylish home entertaining. Its distinctive mid-century modern designs, often featuring stylish curves and elegant lines, are now considered collectible with Glo Hill being well-known and sought after for their iconic designs.
Some wear/tarnish/scratches common for its age are to be expected. A good cleaning and shine and she'll be ready to entertain even your most sophisticated guests! Excellent vintage used condition. Sticker still on back.
