This is a vintage metal portrait trinket box, #2823 Portrait of Sonia by La Tour (1836-1904). This is an adorable metal trinket box with four feet. The scroll work is amazing and the inside is lined in red velvet. It is stamped Japan on the bottom. There is some tarnish - I think the patina adds to the character, but you could choose to polish it up...and an edge piece on the lid that is broken out @5/8". Please see the pictures. Very cool! Use it to give that special gift.
The box is just over 2" tall by 2 3/4" wide by 3 1/4" tall.
