Strategies To Empower People (S.T.E.P.), a Supported Living Services Agency that supports adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, is currently seeking a Human Resources Clerk. Under the direction of the Human Resources Department, this person will be responsible for assisting the Human Resources department in an administrative capacity at our Rocklin satellite office. Our Rocklin office employs and supports approximately 100 employees.
NATURE OF WORK
This individual will work out of our Rocklin satellite office and be responsible for independently performing Human Resources administrative tasks as well as communicate consistently with company headquarters in Sacramento. They will have a set of responsibilities dictated by the Human Resources department that must be completed accurately and with minimal supervision in a timely manner. This individual is expected to be extremely detail oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks, process a lot of paperwork, as well as perform basic clerical duties with minimal supervision, confidence, and discretion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
-Coordinating and assisting with new hire interviews. Assisting with reference checks for new hires.
-Coordinate, schedule, and record keep for employee trainings, etc.
-Assist clients, staff, and management with obtaining and completing required paperwork as needed.
-Employee filing and assisting with maintaining employee personnel and confidential files for all employees. Auditing of files and records as required by the HR Department.
-Will maintain daily, consistent communication with staff and management via telephone, email, and other means as needed.
-Assist clients, employees, and managers with navigating through company processes and maintain a working knowledge of company policies and procedures and be able to explain when needed. Refer to Human Resources department in Sacramento for clarity/further information when needed.
-Perform general office functions such as answering and distributing calls, taking messages, drafting correspondence, filing, and alike.
-MUST have critical thinking skills and ability to seek knowledge when needed.
-Have clear, consistent communication with company Directors, Management, and field staff.
-Maintain a HIGH LEVEL of confidentiality regarding all aspects of position. Handle sensitive subjects with professionalism.
-Work with remote and minimal supervision and confidence.
-Record data for employees as needed. Process and maintain personnel-related documentation when needed.
-Schedule appointments and meetings for Human Resources staff and arrange for reservations and catering for meetings as needed.
-Act as relief for Front Desk personnel during times of breaks and lunch.
-Other duties as assigned by the HR Department.
Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
-Willingness to work with people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities.
-1 or more years of experience working in the Human Resources field (you will not be considered if you have not met this requirement*.)
-High school diploma or GED (required).
-Ability to work with and adapt to different personalities in the workplace.
-Must have good time management skills.
-Be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Must be able to learn new computer programs and concepts quickly.
-Ability to take instruction well and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
-Be well organized. Accuracy and attention to detail is a MUST.
-Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and have good spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
-Be personable and able to handle difficult situations with employees and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
-Ability to multi-task well.
-Be able to communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality.
-Have proper telephone etiquette and work well professionally with others.
-Be punctual, flexible, reliable, adaptable, creative, patient, and trustworthy.
-Be able to read/write in the English language in order to perform essential duties.
-Obtain current CPR/1st Aid certification as required by the agency.
-Be cleared through a background criminal check and successfully pass post-offer, pre-employment drug screen.

HOURS AND PAY FOR POSITION:
General business hours Monday thru Friday. Pay is $15 per hour.
