Jennings Tent Company provides fire base camp support for CalFire and emergency response operations throughout California. We are currently looking for dependable seasonal workers who can respond quickly when fire assignments arise.
THIS IS HARD PHYSICAL WORK. Please do not apply unless you are comfortable working outdoors for long hours in challenging conditions.
JOB DUTIES:
• Set up and take down tents, lighting, generators, and other camp equipment
• Load and unload trucks and trailers
• Perform heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the day
• Work outdoors in heat, smoke, dust, and other weather conditions
• Assist with fire base camp operations as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to report to work within 1–2 hours of being called
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be willing to travel throughout California
• Must be available for overnight assignments and extended deployments
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work
• Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team
• Must provide a copy of a valid driver's license and Social Security card before employment
PAY:
• $25 per hour for equipment setup and teardown work
• $250 per day when assigned to remain on-site during deployments
CLASS A DRIVERS WANTED:
We are especially interested in applicants who:
• Hold a valid Class A CDL
• Have towing experience
• Have a clean driving record
• Can provide references
HOW WORK IS ASSIGNED:
Jennings Tent Company maintains an active call list. When a fire assignment is received, workers on the call list will be contacted. The first qualified workers who respond and commit to the assignment will be selected for the job.
