I’m looking for an independent local experienced Harley-Davidson mechanic to R&R the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on a 2015 HD Sportster 1200 “Seventy-Two” (XL 1200 V). The VSS is intermittent, and works about half the time, usually only after riding awhile. The VSS provides speed data to the ECM which affects the speedometer, odometer, fuel injection/delivery and turn signal cancellation. When the VSS is not working, the check engine light comes on. The VSS is not readily accessible on the Sportster Seventy Two model and will likely require removal of various parts to get at it - see close up photos. Experienced HD mechanic preferred. Note: The DTC codes are BCM N, SPDO N, ABS N, ECM Y P0503 (VSS voltage). Located near Woodland and I can ride or trailer it to your shop. If you can do it, give me an estimate, I pay ca$h.
