The Combinata XVII is a spectacular design from world renowned instrument designer and builder Dennis Fano. This guitar is slightly reminiscent of Fano's RB6 model but with an enlarged body. This fret work on this guitar was expertly completed by the Novo Guitars crew in Nashville is meticulously well done.
The German carve top and Laguna Blue Metallic finish are extremely attractive. This guitar is part of a limited edition run with Laguna Blue Metallic finish. The C+ neck profile feels incredible in hand and plays flawlessly up and down the fingerboard. The Duesenberg tremolo tailpiece is a perfect addition to this guitar giving it further inspirational and creative options. This particular guitar is very resonant unplugged and rings like a bell plugged in. The Novanta P-90 pickups are articulate, have tons of tonal options that are accessible with the toggle switch and by simply rolling down the volume and tone knobs. The pickups are very interactive together. The bridge pickup is clear, bell like, and biting and can cut through any mix. The neck pickup is capable of producing incredible bass tones and even getting into Les Paul territory. The tonal qualities combined with the amazing playability make this guitar easily one of our favorite new guitars available today.
From Rivolta Guitars: The COMBINATA XVII is the evolution of a design with which followers of Dennis Fano should be very familiar. The larger and slightly offset body give the COMBINATA a shapely silhouette and more substantial feel. The chambered mahogany body features a German carve top ( mahogany on solid colors, maple on burst / natural ). The 25″ scale maple set-neck sports a comfortably chunky “Rivolta C+” profile, with 24 medium jumbo frets, bound / full width inlayed fingerboard and a Duesenberg Les Trem II.
