The custom made Lone Star back panels screw into the exact same screw holes as the original back, and those panels totally change the sound of the cabinet. I could not believe the dramatic difference in sound just from changing the back panel.
The ElectraDyne, Lone Star, and TransAtlantic 27" 2x12 cabinets had different front panel cosmetics, and the electradyne had a different back panel. But they all share the exact same cabinet dimensions on the 2x12 model. Additionally, the ElectraDyne 2x12 had V30 speakers (although the 1x12 version used a C90) and the Lone Star and Transatlantic both used C90s.
This cabinet can function sonically as any of those cabinets which shared the same dimensions:
-- Electradyne 2x12 (V30 speakers and solid back with oval tuned Port, about 1/3 open)
-- Lone Star 2x12 (C90 speakers and 2/3 open back with 2 horizontal panels)
-- TransAtlantic 2x12 (C90 speakers and 2/3 open back with 2 horizontal panels)
Or, my favorite option is shown, the lonestar backpanels and a pair of Jensen Blackbird 100 Alnico speakers.
New, these speakers are $318 EACH plus tax or $685. So don't be too shocked at the loaded price of the cab with these speakers. Alnicos are not cheap. But they are awesome.
I'm selling the cabinet either UNLOADED (no speakers) or LOADED with various speaker options:
UNLOADED (no speakers), with Electradyne back panel AND custom lonestar back panels: $375
LOADED options:
- with a **SINGLE** mint G12-EVH 15 ohm speaker, and you would need to add the 2nd speaker $500
- with a **SINGLE** mint C90 16 ohm speaker, and you would need to add the 2nd speaker, $525
- with a PAIR of Jensen Blackbird 100 Alnico 16 ohms, for a 200W, 8 ohm cabinet: $875
I am also open to selling the speakers separately.
All of these options offer substantial discounts off the new price. All of the these speakers are mint with pretty limited playtime.
I am willing to sell any of the speakers separately without a cabinet.
