condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Rogers
model name / number: Luxor
size / dimensions: 5x14
This Rogers Luxor is a vintage Cleveland-era Blue/Silver Duco snare drum. 5x14. 6 lug. It has non-original heads and wires but, otherwise, it is in original condition. The wires are nice Canopus wires. The hoops and chrome parts are in nice condition for the age. Some rash here and there but nothing significant. The finish looks really good with some small dings here and there, but none of the peeling that I've seen on other examples. Feel free to message for any further pictures.
The drum sounds fantastic. What I love about it is it's recorded sound. The drum sounds bigger than its size. I've read that the six lugs allows for "microphonics" in the tuning which leads to a sound that cuts through a mix. Somewhat like a guitar with an overdrive on. Or recording with parallel compression. I don't know if it's true or not, but I have several of these snares, and I always love them for that certain size and the way they sit in a mix. Just my two cents
